Veracruz Small Holders
This harvest of Veracruz coffee comes from a variety of smallholder farms scattered across the Veracruz region in Mexico. The coffee brings together a well represented mix of Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra varieties, each contributing its unique character to the coffee blend. Before its journey to the Descamex facility for decaffeination, the coffee was fully washed and sundried, providing a clean up and preserving delicate origin notes.
Veracruz, often referred to as the “capital of coffee,” holds a special place in Mexico’s coffee history. As the second-largest coffee-producing state, its fertile lands and ideal climate make it a cornerstone of the country's coffee culture. Perched along the Gulf of Mexico in the southeast, Veracruz served as the gateway for coffee’s introduction to Mexico. The first plants arrived from the Caribbean in the 18th century, and from here, coffee spread, taking root across the nation. This lot is more than just a collection of beans—it’s a reflection of Veracruz’s vibrant history and the dedication of its farmers.

Espresso Guide
Decaf is fun to pull as espresso and can be enjoyed anytime without disrupting sleep! Decaf pulls differently than regular coffee. It is easier to over extract, so we use a lower temperature and refrain from pulling too long of a shot. Decaf needs a finer grind, so be sure to go finer than a normal coffee. We look for shot times between 25-30s and pull a tighter ratio than the normal 1:2. Enjoy!
Brew Guide
Check out our brew guide for a variety of brew methods. For decaf specifically, we use a lower temperature.
